Rotor balancing technology is an important technology for solvingrotating machinery vibration problems. There're several methods forbalancing flexible rotor and shafting, for instance the influence coefficientmethod and the modal balancing method. The influence coefficient methodhas been used widely in the field balancing process. The least squaresinfluence coefficient method has solve the multi plane or points balancecalculation, but the balancing weight or maximum residual vibration may betoo large, which are not meeting the actual requirements.This paper describes several methods for improving the least squaresinfluence coefficient method, for instance the weighted least squares influencecoefficient method and the least squares influence coefficient method withlimiting the balancing weight. There are certain limitations in the practicalapplication of the process with both methods. This paper also describes theapplication of intelligent algorithm in the least squares influence coefficientmethod, and puts forward the least squares influence coefficient methodoptimization based on the improved PSO. Least squares influence coefficientmethod based on GA and PSO optimize the calculation results to a certainextent, but there are some limitations. Theoretical analysis and numerical examples show that, least squares influence coefficient method optimized byPSO based on genetic cross-factor can reduce the maximum residual vibrationand balancing weight, and achieve better balance effect. PSO has fastconvergence, and coding is simple. Groups of satisfactory solutions can beachieved after several groups of computing, which has good effect in practicalapplication.This paper also develops a rotor balancing computing systems, which canmake rigid rotor, flexible rotor and shafting balance calculation. The systemalso has the balancing tools, including the test weight calculation, theallowable amount of unbalance calculation, harmonic component calculation,vector merge, vector decomposition, which improve the balancing effeciency.
