In the rotating machine, the unbalance is the most common fault of the rotor. Theunbalance rotor would cause vibration and sound, the sounds damage the industrialenvironment, and the vibration will makeparts wear faster. In some serious condition,industrial accident may occur, which will result in property damage and casualties. Inearly time, the balancing of the rotor was most focused on the rigid rotor, with theadvances in industrial technology, the speed of rotor is increasingly high. The testsystem and equipment of rigid rotor can’t meet the demand, the study of the flexiblerotor theory and developing of the flexible rotor test system is meaningful.This paper introduced the flexible rotor theory firstly. In the process of balancing,the rotor signal processing is a key step. According to the de-noise of the rotor signal,the partial differential equations de-noise method for vibration signal was proposed. ThePDE de-noise algorithm was modified, and the modified algorithm is faster. The unifiedPDE based one-dimensional signal de-noise mode was proposed. Discussed the featureand advantage of PDE de-noise method. According the extracting of the basebandsignal from the vibration signal, the FFT based method and the Cross-correlationfunction based method was introduced. The3σ standard was used in theCross-correlation function based baseband signal extracting method, which canaccurately extracting baseband signal from complex vibration signal. In the process ofmodel balancing of flexible rotor, the rotor dynamics of the rotor is necessary. At thesame time, rotor dynamics is also useful for impact factor balancing of flexible rotor.The transfer matrix method and finite element method was used for rotor dynamics. TheANSYS software was used for rotor dynamics, which can modeling the complex rotorsystem quickly and easily.Based on the LabVIEW software platform and hardware produced by NI, a flexiblerotor test system was developed. The developed system can used to test the rotor system,identification of the unbalance fault. After the identification of the unbalance fault,impact factor based and modal based flexible rotor balancing methods can be used tobalance the rotor system.
