With the progress of science and technology and the improvement of people's living standard, automobiles have increasingly penetrated into people's daily life, bringing great convenience to their daily activities.The rapidly developing electronic computer technology has constantly been applied to auto manufacturing industry and the traffic network of our country is gradually improving.However, more and more traffic safety problems are being caused by vehicles on the road, drawing great attention of the people, which requires us to improve vehicle safety performance testing technoloies when developing the auto manufacturing industry. Vehicle Braking Detection System, an importanct aspect of Vehicle safety performance test, is directly linked to the safety of vehicles. Therefore, improving the VBDS equipments is a vital assurance for traffic safety.This paper first conducts a detailed research on and analysis of exsiting domestic as well as foreign VBDS equipments, then does further research and measurement about the technical parameters and components affecting the accuracy of VBDS. And based on the comparison of various design methods, the overall scheme of designing a Portable VBDS Based On DSP is established. This system adopts the TMS320F2808as its microprocessor, which is produced by TI Corporation and boasts such features as high integration of peripheral equipment components, high performance of computing as well as low level of noise and interference. It fully meets requirements of this detection system.This desgin scheme uses capacitive silicon-mico acceleration sensor in its data acquisition ststem. This multi-dimension acceleration sensor is capable to conveniently and accurately measure the vertical, horizontal as well as longitudinal acceleration of subject vehicles, which really reflects the complicated state of swing and toss during the dynamic braking process of vehicles.The test system proposed by this article uses top-down modular design mode for the sake of practicality. The upper machine stores and processes the data aquisited through software system and displays it through the system in the form of curve diagrams and forms. The lower computer is based on DSP main controller and multi-dimension acceleration sensor and together with keyboard controller, communication ports, LCD monitor and micro-printer, achieves detection tasks.Using this design, we perform vehicles experimental test on this system according to testing requirements of road examination method laid down in the GB7258-2004Operating Safety Requirements for Motor Vehicles issued by relevant departments of the state. The results meet the expectations of this article.
