Wind turbine blade as one of the critical components, withstands the complexity loads of the external environment. With the development of large-scale wind turbine, blade will also be designed heavier and longer. Therefore, the problem about loads and dynamic characteristics of blade is important, not only restricts the development of wind turbine, but also affects the stability and service life. This paper research and analysis the basic model of the blade design, summarizes the blade design methods and basic procedures, use the most sophisticated model—Wilson, and select1.5MW wind turbine blades to independently design, because the technology is relatively mature, the works contain the selection of length of blade, the fatal points are the choices of airfoils and determining the airfoil's chord length and pitch angle of each blade section, and also the airfoils'reasonable arranging along the direction of blade length. This paper select ten airfoils which are NACA series.According to the international electrotechnical commission standard IEC61400-1, study and analyze the type of blade load while design the load conditions, calculate the fatigue load cases and fatigue load cases by using Bladed to simulate normal wind conditions and extreme wind conditions. This paper study analyzed the solid modeling methods in relation to blade. According to the blade airfoil data, use Excel to convert Three—dimensional coordinates, finally, create a blade model.Research the finite element analysis method in relation to blade, and obtain the blade dynamic characteristics, including import blade geometry mode!, create a reasonable finite element mesh model, apply loads and boundary conditions. Obtained the top four natural frequencies and mode shapes of blade by finite element analysis, and provide a reference for future study.
