The spiral bevel, one kind of drive components, is used widely in themechanical transmission. It has many advantages, such as a high transmissionefficiency, smooth drive, carrying capacity, low noise and so on. The spiral bevelhas take place of the straight bevel gear in many mechanical areas and transferthe movement and dynamic between intersecting axis. With the development ofmachinery and equipment towards the high-speed, heavy duty, reliable direction,new requirements have been proposed to spiral bevel gear drive performanceand quality.Traditional spiral bevel gear design process is very complicated, and it needsto take a long time to complete. Because gear parts have similar geometryshapes. It is necessary to study the accurate modeling of three-dimensionalparameters of the spiral bevel gear. A scientific, simple three-dimensional designcan make the drawing of the spiral bevel gear get quickly, and at the same timelay the foundation for its engagement simulation analysis.According to the mutual relations of the geometric parameters of the spiralbevel gears, we can create a mathematical model of spiral bevel gears. Based onthis, the modern three-dimensional modeling software Pro/E is used to look for aparametric modeling method, which is easy to operate and analyze, to completespiral bevel gear parametric modeling.To a certain extent, the study about the design of parameters of spiral bevelgear reduces the heavy work of the designers, improves design efficiency andshortens the design cycle. It makes computer-aided analysis and manufacturingof arc bevel gear to become possible. To achieve the design process parameterscan avoid the design staff to manually check a large number of parameters. Italso can avoid the complex process of manually taking the point to model. Thedesign staff of spiral bevel gear can be freed from the cumbersome andinefficient work. Thus it can reduce the designer's workload and work pressure,so that production efficiency is improved.
