The precise model of spiral bevel gear is the foundation of tooth contact analysistechnology (TCA) and the correction of the deviation of tooth-surface technology. Butthe tooth surface is very complex, so it is very difficult for designers to complete the3d model quickly and accurately. This days, modeling of spiral bevel are based on theengaging theory, in this way, the output of the model with a approximate sphericalinvolute tooth profile, the precision of the tooth surface is too poor to as the basicmodel in tooth surface contact analysis and loaded tooth contact analysis.Firstly, in this paper, based on previous research achievements about themodeling of spiral bevel gear, the spherical involute theory is applied to theparametric modeling of spiral bevel gear. Start from the curve that make up the toothprofile, the curve composed each part of the tooth profile are solved quickly andaccurate, emphasis on the derivation of the equations of tooth profile curve andgenerating line, then completed the parametric equations of tooth surface. Provide atheoretical basis for fast and accurate modeling of spiral bevel gear.Second, taking advantage of the spherical involute characteristics and advantagesand combining with the tooth surface forming principle, this paper using a variety ofmodeling scheme, that are modeling by tooth surface sweeping curve, modeling byrotating the generating line and tooth discrete point cloud modeling. Based on the3Dgraphics software UG, quickly and accurately create the spiral bevel gear model thatwith a high-precision tooth surface, this provides a new way for fast and accuratemodeling of spiral bevel gear.In addition, consider to improve the precision of tooth surface of spiral bevelgear solid workpiece, especially the quality of tooth surface finishing, this articlebased on spiral bevel gear electrochemical finishing machining experimentplatform, carried out experiments on the tooth surface machining. Firstly, theexperiment program is simplified, completed a electrochemical machining of Typical plane surface. Then, in order to reconstruct a free surface boundary curve, toextract data point in the experimental work, taking advantage of the non-uniform rationalB-spline curve to fit the data point. By fitting the edge curve of the stray corrosion areain the workpiece after electrochemical machining, the spiral bevel gear modeling canset aside a certain amount, to offset the amount of reserved corrosion on the edge inthe process of electrochemical machining of gear, by this way to achieve a highaccuracy of gear tooth surface.Finally, the research on modeling of spiral bevel gear analysis shows that: thespiral bevel gear model design towards high precision, high efficiency and highflexibility three directions, which has a certain guiding significance to other types ofgear modeling.
