Power system operating voltage depends on the balance of reactive power, if the system lacks reactive power, the voltage level will become lower. At the case of system disturbances; it is possible the voltage below the threshold voltage with the collapse of catastrophic accidents of the system. So, the control of reactive power and voltage in power systems has also become an important research content.The paper takes the Fuyang electrical network idle work optimization as the research object, the use dispatch automated system(SCADA/EMS), under the consideration of voltage requirement, the system operating condition and the reliability of equipments, the active power losses in the whole system can be reduced to the minimum by properly switching the capacitor banks and changing the tap position of transformers with on-load tap changer, such that operation cost of the network cab be saved and the power supply quality can be improved.This paper analyzes the lack of regulation of current VQC devices by the research of status of reactive power regulation of the Fuyang grid. According to the results of reactive power regulation strategy, the paper determines the technical requirements of the AVC system It develops the basic control mode and control strategy of Fuyang grid AVC system according to the AVC overall control scheme. It implements the Fuyang grid AVC system construction. It analyzes the situation of several stages like the open-loop operation, closed-loop debugging and closed-loop control operation by the application of substation examples. This paper also studies the security benefits, social and economic benefits and technical management efficiency of the implementation of AVC system in Fuyang grid.This article in detail introduced the AVC system in Fuyang electrical network control strategy and application situation, finally indicated:This system has high practicality, and the control device movement is reasonable, it can effectively improve the qualified rate of the regional power grid voltage and reduce the network losses.
