However, with the trend of globalization and cultural convergence, traditional Chinese architecture has been secretly worried about "their missing". In the face of the invasion of foreign mighty culture, we should not only to inherit the tradition, but also to adapt to contemporary. It is necessary to maintain and transmit the local culture, but also to create a contemporary architecture suitable for China.Proportions and scales are the fundamental points for architecture,. They are the commonly characteristics for different regions, different ethnic groups and different era of building. The proportion of modern building scale theory originated in the Western classical architecture. For Chinese architectures, there is no strict sense of the proportion of scale theory, but in traditional Chinese architectures influenced by the traditional Chinese philosophical thought, there also have formed a unique proportional scale features. This paper aims to propose a new thinking for the Chinese modern architecture development through the study of traditional philosophical thoughts, to find out the scale features of the proportion of traditional Chinese architecture, and compared it to the proportion of Western classical scale theoryThe paper take the traditional Chinese philosophical thoughts as the starting point, make the analysis and discussion with ratio scale of the theory on traditional architectures. It is divided into three parts. The first part mainly discussed the traditional Chinese philosophical thinking like "harmony between man and nature ",Yi Jing, Buddhist thinking, Neo-Confucianism,; The second part discussed scaling relation of the traditional architectures influenced by the traditional philosophical thought with examples. The third part summarized the scaling relation of the proportion of traditional Chinese architecture, and comparatively analyzed it with the West's, put forward a new thinking to the development of modern architecture.
