Xinjiang is the largest production base of cotton in China. Cotton industry has become the most important economic pillar of Xinjiang and plays an important strategic position in the national economy of Xinjiang .In recent years, cotton production has remained 1/3 in our country and 8% in world. In the process of gaining and machining cotton, machine cotton picker technology has to mature. But, Loading and unloading of cotton restricts the mechanization degree of producing cotton. In order to save manpower and reduce cost and improve productivity of cotton production and processing .A grab for cotton was designed in this topic using previous experience for reference.The design scheme of hydraulic grab is put forward in the topic refer to the bulk cargo grab using in wharf. According to the characteristics of cotton, the design scheme of the loader of cotton is determined, and size parameters of grab and cantilever are determined. Virtual Prototype model of the loader of cotton is established using Pro/E software.Interference detection has been done for prototype model. Cut resistance,push Resistance,friction resistance,gear lever into the resistance and Cantilever force are analyzed by rigorous mathematical reasoning computation. These provides a theoretical basis for the virtual simulation of the grab of cotton and optimization of the cantilever.Soft pieces of the use of ADAMS on the grab for cotton virtual prototype machine for dynamic simulation kinematics and dynamics analysis. Get the opening angle curve of the grab,the hydraulic cylinder stroke curve,the trajectory curve of the grab and the pressure changes curve of the hydraulic cylinder.The optimal lifting position parameters are got by the optimization of the lifting mechanism of the cantilever. The maximum lifting force,the initial lifting force and the fluctuation coefficient decrease by 10.34%,7.22%,24.7%. The optimization effect is very good and meets the design requirements.The establishment of the cantilever and the grab of static model is determined. The static calculation is carried out respectively. The deformation and stress of in the dangerous working conditions has been obtained by model building,loads applying,equation solving and post-processing. The cantilever and the grab of strength are checked when it is subjected to maximum resistance. The research can insure the reliability and safety of the mechanism.Grab cotton machine is designed by the studies of this paper and the structure is improved compared with the former machine. Production requirement can be met. Theoretical mathematic model provides foundation for the future research.
