In this paper, the seeds of different provenances of Toona sinensis were collected and the seed quality, sensory and nutritional, sprouting yield and sprout nutritional components were studied and evaluated.The main results were as follows:1 There was a significant differences (P<0.05) between the quality in testing seeds of differents Toona sinensis provenances. Seed weight lightly showed the variation from West to East and from South to North. The main differences of seed-length and seed-width were smaller between the north China and south China. A variety of Toona sinensis seed protein, soluble sugar, soluble starch, and amino acid contents reached the level of 0.05,0.05,0.01 and 0.01 respectively2 The sensory and nutritional dynamics of ten provenances of Toona sinensis were studied to evaluate their quality and edible values. The results showed that there was a significant difference in sensory quality between the 10 Toona sinensis provenance, among which the provenance Qianxiannan Guizhou was the best for edible value (92 point).The proteins content in the sprouts of ten provenances was increased at the early stage of growth and then decreased in the late stage, while the amino acids content in the sprout was showed as "increase-decrease-increase" with the time. The vitamin C content in the sprout was not obviously changed with time.3 The length of sprouts is from 7.3 to 13.4 (cm), fresh weight is from 2.4 to 3.7 (g), according to 11 kinds of Toona sinensis provenances. It is means that one gram seeds can produce 7.5 gram sprouts. The content of protein, amino acid, Vitamin C reaches the level of 4.9 mg/g,2.7 mg/g, and 0.83 mg/g.4 As to 11 kinds of Toona sinensis provenances in seeding and sprouting, the best provenance Shandong TaiAn was to be screened out by a comprehensive assessment5 As to 10 kinds of Toona sinensis provenances in vegetable purpose, ShanDong JiYuan and HuNan DongKou were significantly highest of them through TOPSIS analysis.
