As the experimental material,Nicotiana alata Link et Otto,which is introduced in from Canada,and they are selected nine varieties.They were divided into three categories, named white color ,red color, and purple color. Measuring flower diameter, style length, flower tube length, ovary width, ovary length and the height difference between pistil and stamens, analyzes otherness between different species and the relevance between different characters. The parent strain, which was sowing in spring in 2009,take self-fertilization and cross breeding. Then calculated the maturing rate.The first hybrid generation and self-fertilization generation(F1) was sowing on the same place in spring in 2010,after seeding emergence, calculated the rate of germination. The parents and F1 were measured two main characters such as height and plant width, and analyzed the differentiation, heritability and coefficient of variation. Other characters of Nicotiana alata were also involved, for example, pollen germination, tabby hereditary,and seed germination rate. Main genetic traits in Nicotiana alata were analysed according to these data,and finally find the rule of inheritance.The further test is about the color genetic and the analysis on flavonoids ingredients and content.The key point is studying genetic on color,the color of the Nicotiana alata is measured according to the Panton Colour Chart,and we analyse the composition and content of flavonoids and flavonols by using spectrophotometer,spectral scanning and high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) to speculate the pigments composition.The results show that,in different species,the plant growth rule is almost the same,the height and width of the plant are different from each other,the biggest species is No.7,the smallest species is No.2.But the correlation coefficient between height and width is very high,reached 0.757,so,the plant-type relatively homogeneous.The plant-type of selfing offprings are reduced,and generally appeared retrogressive development,and they all had obstacle on bloom.Most of the hybrid offspring's height and width are not become larger,so,they don't have heterosis.After the analyses on the parental,there is a correlation between flower tube length,style length,stamens length and flower diameter.The flower type is almost same between different species,but there is a obvious distingguish on the flower size,the biggest is No.6,the smallest is NO.7.Hybrids offsprings show that the heritability of light color is poor,but the dark color not.Especially,when No.1 is the female parent and No.5 is the male parent,68% of the hybrid offsprings color is the same to the male parent,and they don't have white color,we can know that the heritability of red color is stronger.The heritability of dalmatian traits is poor,the NO.10 have obvious tabby,the seed setting of self-pollination is 0%,and hybrid seed setting is very low,there is obstacle on bloom and growth in hybrid offsprings.The heritability of the dalmatian traits don't have obvious rules.So,we can conjecture that dalmatian traits is related to catching an illness. Results of determination of flavonoids show that Nicotiana alata don't contain the carotenoids,C3-OH hydrogen free of flavonols or chalcones,but they all contain aurones,and they have anthocyanins except the white flower.The purple has the highest content of anthocyanins,and it is the most important factor that controls the flower color.
