For the recognisation of the influences of straw mulch on soil physical andchemical properties, the young plantation of Prunus salicina was selected as objective stands inKarst area of Guizhou province. The main results are described as follows:(1) The effects on the soil moisture are obvious. Compared with the control, the soilmoisture of all layers straw mulch were improved significantly by application of straw mulch.Soil moisture in0-10cm soil layer had a big variation, and the change rate decreased graduallywith the decrescence of the soil depth. The amount of mulch also had some impact on the soilmoisture. As coverage increasing, the moisture of all layers had an increasing trend. Corn strawhad a better effect than that of rice straw,Y2.5had an optimal action.(2)Straw mulch affected the soil bulk density and pH value, but not obviously.Comparedwith CK, soil bulk density had a downward trend after biological coverage, and the decline rangeincreased with the increase of the coverage amount. The surface soil layer had obvious changescompared with lower ones. Variation tendency of the soil pH value was consistent with that of thesoil bulk density, but demonstrated a regulatory role to a greater extent, in order to maintain thesoil pH value at a steady state. There exited no significant difference between the kinds of strawmaterials on soil bulk density and pH value.(3)Straw mulch had a significant effect on total nitrogen(TN), total phosphorus(TP) and totalpotassium(TK).Contents of TN in all soil layers increased in various degrees, especially in the0-10cm layer. Three nutrient element contents also increased with the increase of the amount ofmulch. Y2.5treatment had the greatest effect.(4)With straw mulch treatments, soil urease and phosphatase activities were significantlyimproved. Overall, in the whole coverage period, soil urease and phosphatase dynamic changeshowed the trend of increase first and then decrease with the highest value in June and lowest onein December. Its activity was also enhanced with the increase of amount of mulch.Urease andphosphatase activities of rice straw mulch. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Karst mount site, straw mulch, Prunus salicina, Soil physiochemical property, Soil enzyme activity, Effect | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
