Forest Resources, Jiangsu Province, 2005-2010 Dynamic Changes

Forest was a dynamic biological systems, was also important natural resources andenvironmental resources. Promptly and accurately accessing to the information on the statusand the dynamics of forest resources had an important significance for the understanding of avariety of effects on the change of forest resources and forecasting the development trend offorestry.In the paper, GPS used to navigate and locate to find the8536sample plots, forestresources inventory data used to verify the51890RS plots, and the built statistical softwareused to logic checks and data summary in province-wide, the paper got the type, quantity,quality and distribution of forest, forest land and forest resources in Jiangsu by strict qualitycontrol measures.With the depth of Green Jiangsu building, the provincial forest resources showed thefollowing characteristics: the apparent increase in forest land(a net increase of500,600hectares), the further expand in polar planting area, the substantial growth in forest(a netincrease of545,900hectares), the stable improvement in forest coverage, the continuousincreasing rate in ecological forest, the maintaining stability of young-middle-aged forest, thelittle growth of nearly mature forest, the gradual reduction in forest consumption, thecontinuous improvement in forest ecological conditions, and the significant enhancemnent offorest productivity. At the same time, total lack of forest resources, low-level of forestmanagement still exist in Jiangsu.Combined with the characteristics and the changing trend of forest resources in Jiangsu,the paper proposed six measures:increase forest resources, standardize the management offorest resources, improve the quality of forest resources, pefect the forest ecosystem, enhancethe development of forestry industry.
