This article was to study the effect of weaning stress on blood and biochemical indexes in pigs and its application to practice through two trial.1. Twenty four piglets weaned at 35d in three pig population were selected, which were Xiaomeishan pig, Fengjing pig and Changmei pig(LandracexXiaomeishan pig) respectively. Blood samples were collected at weaning, Id,3d,5d after weaning and analyzed for hematological and biochemical profiles.2. Thirty six Changmei crossbred (LandracexXiaomeishan) weaned piglets were randomly assigned to three tr eatments with twelve piglets to investigate effect of citric acid on serum biochemical values of weaned piglets. The results showed as follows:1.The content of serum ALT, AST, ALB/GLO, ALP, UA and CK gradually increased at 1d after weaning in Xiaomeishan pig population, in which ALT had significant difference while others not. Meanwhile, serum activities of AST/ALT,TP,ALB,GLO and GLU gradually decreased, in which most of them had no significant difference except of ALB and GLU. There were significant difference in all index examined in this experiment except of ALB/GLO,ALP and UA at 3d after weaning, accordingly except of ALB and ALP at 5d after weaning. The content of MCV significantly decreased in all blood indexes at 1 d after weaning, while others had no significant difference. The same were the content of RBC, HGB and MCV at 3d after weaning and that of MCV at 5d after weaning.2.The content of serum ALT, AST, ALB/GLO, ALP, UA and CK gradually increased at 1d after weaning in Fengjing pig population, while others decreased in which TP, GLO and ALB/GLO had significant difference. The content of serum ALT, AST/ALT, TP, GLO, UA, GLU and CK had significant difference at 3d after weaning. But it had some differences at 5d after weaning that the content of ALB and ALP had no significant difference. The content of MCV and MCH significant decreased at 1d after weaning, accordingly that of HGB, MCV and MCH at 3d after weaning and that of MCV and MCH at 5d after weaning.3.The content of ALT, AST, ALB/GLO, ALP, UA and CK gradually increased at 1d after weaning in Changmei pig population, and others gradually decreased in which the content of ALT, AST/ALT, GLO, ALP and GLU had significant difference. The content of TP, ALB and ALB/GLO had no significant difference at 3d after weaning, while the content of AST/ALT, ALB and ALB/GLO at 5d after weaning. There were no significant differences at 1d after weaning and at 3d after weaning, while only the content of HCT significantly decreased at 5d after weaning.4.The more time in the period of time after weaning during pig populations, the more the number of index which had significant difference; the more the relationship during pig populations, the less the number of index which had significant difference.5. The basic diet with citric acid could promote pig growth significantly, especially in those pigs with 1% citric acid. Supplementing citric acid decreased the content of ALT, AST, ALP and UA in serum significantly, and raised TP, ALB and GLO at the significant level. So Supplementing citric acid could reduce the weaned stress effectively.
