The Clinical Effect Research Of Chronic Osteomyelitis By The Combination Of Traditional Medicine And Modern Medicine

Objective:To evaluate the clinical efficiency of using the combination of Traditional Medicine and Modern Medicine in the patients of Chronic Osteomyelitis.Methods:the combination of Traditional Medicine and Modern Medicine:Eighteen cases of chronic osteomyelitis were treated with the combination of Traditional Medicine and Modern Medicine between 2009 and2011.There were 12 males and 8 females with an average age of 52 years (range from 39 to 62 years).Of these cases,five were haematogenous osteomyelitis and for the rest were infected after intenal fixation of fracture. The involved bones included femur in 5cases,tibia in 13 cases and other in lcase.The mean time of infection was 6 years (range from 1 years to 8 years).There were sinus tracts in all cases and liquor puris was effused from them. Secretion culture collected from sinus tracts in 17 cases got Staphylococus aureus..The granulation tissues got from debridement were sent for bacterial culture,antibiotics sensitivity examinationand and histopathology test.And use the combination of Traditional Medicine and Modern Medicine in the patients of Chronic Osteomyelitis.Group of control:20 cases of osteomylitis treated with Modern Medicine from 2009-2010 were retrospectively analysised.There were 14 males and 6 females with a mean age of 51 years (range from 42 to 65years). The involved bones included femur in 8 cases and tibial in12 cases. The average duration of infection was 5 (range from 1 years to9 years).There were sinus tracts in all cases and liquor puns was effused from them.Secretion culture collected from sinus tracts in 17 cases got Staphylococcus aureus. Antibiotic was use after thorough debridementResult:1. The combination of Traditional Medicine and Modern Medicine has made more apparent efficiency in the treatment of Chronic osteomyelitis;2. The combination of Traditional Medicine and Modern Medicine has the advantages of good efficacy, low relapse rates and cheaper. Conclusion:The combination of Traditional Medicine and Modern Medicine has much better than Modern Medicine,it can make good efficacy obviously.
