Objective:To investigate the expressions of Mfn2 and VEGF in epithelial ovarian carcinoma and to explore their roles in tumorigenesis. Methods:The expression of Mfn2 and VEGF was examined by immunohisto chemical Elivision technique in 50 cases of ovarian cancer,30 cases of benign ovarian epithelial tumor and 20 cases of normal ovary.Results:(1) Positive expression rate of Mfn2 in epithelial ovarian cancer was 88.0%(44/50),which was higher than that in benign tumor (14/30,46.7%) and normal ovary(3/20,15.0%),the difference has statistics significance (p<0.05). Positive expression rate of VEGF in epithelial ovarian cancer was 78.0%(39/50),which was higher than in benign tumor (11/30,36.7) and normal ovary(1/20,5.0%),the difference has statdstics significance(p<0.05). (2) The expression of Mfn2 and VEGF in epithelialovarian carcinoma were associated with clinical stages, cell differentiation and lymph node metastasis(p<0.05),but not related to pathological types(p<0.05).And the expression of Mfn2 was positively correlated with the expression of VEGF (r= 0.925)Conclusions:Mfn2 and VEGF plays an important role in occurrence and development of epithelial ovarian cancer, may be involved in the malignant progression and metastasis, and could be used to provide a new idea and method of diagnosis and the treatment of epithelial ovarian cancer...
