The Efficacy Of Treatment Of Chronic Aplastic Anemia By Using Bushen Formula Combined Androgen And Immunosuppressant And Its Effect On EPO, IFN-γ Levels

Objective: To observe the efficacy on patients with chronic aplastic anemia by using Bushen side with androgen and immunosuppressive agents, and the effect on peripheral blood EPO, IFN-γlevels.Methods: 39 patients with chronic aplastic anemia were randomly divided into three groups,namely test groupⅠ,test groupⅡand control group. Test groupⅠis a Chinese medicine group(11 cases, including 3 cases of kidney-Yang deficiency,3 cases of kidney-Yin deficiency,5 cases of kidney-Yin and Yang deficiency) was treated with Bushen formulaⅠ,Ⅱ,Ⅲ; testing groupⅡis a Integrated Medicine Group,(12 cases, including 5 cases of kidney-Yang deficiency,3 cases of kidney-Yin deficiency,4 cases of kidney-Yin and Yang deficiency) was treated with Bushen formulaⅠ,Ⅱ,Ⅲcombined with androgen and immunosuppressive agents; the control group is a medicine group, (16 cases) was treated with androgen and immunosuppressive agents. Treatment for 6 months, the clinical effect were observed during the course. The blood of patients before and after therapy were collected.Besides these 10 cases of healthy blood were collected as normal controls. Hematopoiesis regulation factors such as EPO,IFN-γwere observed by ELISA.Results: (1)On efficacy of Chinese medicine, the total effective rate of test groupⅡreaches 83.3%, significantly better than test groupⅠ(45.5%) and the control group (56.3%), P<0.05, while no significant difference between the control group and test groupⅠ; (2)After treatment ,each group could significantly improve the TCM symptoms and symptoms of anemia, there is a significant difference compared with that before treatment (P <0.05), test groupⅡgained most obvious improvement of clinical symptoms. To improve the symptoms of anemia after treatment between groups, test groupⅡwere better than test groupⅠand the control group (P <0.05), test groupⅠand control groups showed no significant difference (P> 0.05).(3) After the treatment, WBC, N, Hb, PLT was no significant difference between groups (P> 0.05); Comparison group, Hb of each group was significantly higher than that before treatment (P <0.01), WBC and N of test groupⅡwas significantly higher than that before treatment (P <0.05), WBC and N of test groupⅠand control group no significant difference compared with before treatment, PLT in each group had no significant difference compared with before treatment.(4)Before treatment, EPO levels of each treatment group showed significant difference than the normal group(P <0.05); EPO levels of each treatment group were not significantly different before and after treatment (P> 0.05), that of the treatment groups were significantly differences than the normal group after treatment (P <0.05). (5) IFN-γlevels of treatment groups were significantly higher than the normal group before treatment (P <0.01); after treatment, that of all treatment groups were decreased significantly than before treatment ( P <0.05), test groupⅡand the control group was significant than before treatment (P <0.01); IFN-γlevels of test groupⅡdecreased significantly than test groupⅠafter treatment, (P <0.05), test groupⅠand the control group, test groupⅡand the control group were not statistically significant (P> 0.05), but after treatment that of each group remained significantly higher than normal group (P <0.01). (6) patients with adverse reactions increase in the control group after treatment than before treatment, test groupⅠand test groupⅡwere no obvious adverse reactions, but no statistical significance among all treatment groups (P> 0.05).Conclusion: Treatment of Bushen fomula, androgen + immunosuppressive agents, and Integrative Medicine (Bushen side with androgen and immunosuppressive agents) on the treatment of aplastic anemia patients are effective, can significantly improve clinical symptoms, Integrative Medicine is most significant. Compared with simple western medicine, Integrative Medicine can reduce the incidence of adverse reactions for Integrative Medicine clinic provides some basis.
