The tradiational Tujia herbal medicine Cynanchum auriculatum Royleex Wight (RCA) has the antitumor activity,but there is a disput about wether it is toxic or not ever since a long time ago. Animal experiment were carried out with the water extractive,total glycosides from fresh and different processing methods of RCA.With the hope that could provide a experimental foundation of scientific and standerd using of this herbal.The main results :1. The Anti—tumor activity to Sl80 tumorThe max Anti—tumor activity of water extractive are all in each high dose group,were: crude group 54.64%,processing 1 group 54.22%, processing 2 group 46.93%;The max Anti—tumor activity of total glycosides were:crude high group 68.99%, processing 1 middle group 79.04%, processing 2 middle group 68.55%. The Anti—tumor activity of total glycosides are all significant strongger than water extractive.2.Immune Organ IndexThe water extractive and total glycosides of crude and different processing RCA has no adverse effects on Spleen index and Thymus index of mice;has no adverse effects on Spleen index and Thymus index like cisplatin; The Spleen index and Thymus index are at a same level as NS group.3.Blood routine,Liver and Kidney functinosThe water extractive and total glycosides of crude and different processing RCA has no adverse effects on Blood routine of mice.The white blood cell count of each water extractive group are all higher than NS group.Compared with the liver and kidney functions of NS group,there is no significant different of each water extractive group,there is significant different of most total glycosides group.4.Acute toxicityThe water extractive and total glycosides used in this test show no acute toxicity to mice.
