Objective:Observed and measured the relationship between posterior interosseous nerve of forearm and lateral epicondyle,to explore the safe zone of the operation of the head and neck of radius,and the surface projection of posterior interosseous nerve compression syndrome's pressure point.Method:30 arms from embalmed adult cadavers were dissected by a standard posterolateral approach,exposing posterior interosseous nerves of forearm.Then observed radial nerve's beginning, branches and adjacent structures. Measured its distance to lateral epicondyle. Using the SPSS software obtains statistics.Results:As the position of the elbow joint is straight and supinated,neutral,pronated:the distance between the beginning of PINOF and the lateral epicondyle is 29.91±3.64mm,38.79±6.38mm,39.14±3.95mm; the distance between the entrance of supinator tube and the lateral epicondyle is 39.82±5.51mm,43.88±5.52mm,46.89±5.71mm;the distance between overlapping spot(PINOF and the radius neck) and the lateral epicondyle is 56.94±3.12 mm,60.63±3.01mm,63.49±3.15 mm; the distance between the outlet of supinator tube and the lateral epicondyle is 66.23±5.50 mm,70.25±5.52mm,73.11±5.44mm; the distance between the distal radial tuberosity and the lateral epicondyle is 66.68±6.07mm,70.76±5.45mm,73.71±5.41mm.Conclusion:There is no significant statistics difference,neither sex nor each sides,of the distance from PINOF to lateral epicondyle;When we take the latter flank admission passage in the operation of the head and neck of radius, forearm should at full pronation and the safe zone is within 6cm distal to lateral epicondyle,or the proximal radial tuberosity; When the forearm at neutral position, the surface projection of posterior interosseous nerve compression syndrome's pressure point is:on a line which is radius patically 30 centigrades to lister tuber- lateral epicondyle line,4cm distal to lateral epicondyle is supinal tube'upper edge,7cm distal to lateral epicondyle is supinal tube'lower edge.Have to process extensor carpi radialis longus tendinous arch when taking PINOF decompression, and ascertain carpal canal as an routine.
