Objective To investigate the correlation of allergic rhinitis and trace elements in the Ningxia region and provide a reference for clinical diagnosis, treatment and prevention of allergic rhinitis.Methods In January-Desember 2010 doctor in Ningxia Medical University Hospital, Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery diagnosed as allergic rhinitis 106 patients as an experimental group, Healthy volunteers as control group (103 cases). while all the selected objects with conventional intravenous blood 3ml-5ml,Cut selected objects hair of occipital about 1cm, Weighs about 1g. The content of Ca, Ni, Fe, Mg, Zn, Sr, Mn, Cu, Se in serum and hair was determined by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES). t-test was used compared Allergic rhinitis and control groups trace elements in serum and hair and different gender, ethnicity, whether associated with asthma, perennial and seasonal differences in serum trace elements; using ANOVA test Compared different age groups in serum trace elements. Pearson assoeiation analysis was used to analyses correlation of each trace elements in serum of allergic rhinitis.Results (1) The testing results of trace elements of allergic rhinitis patients and normal persons'serum: Cu, Ni are super than control group(normal Persons), but the content of Zn, Se lower compared with control group (P<0.05). The testing results of trace elements of allergic rhinitis patients, and normal persons'hair are the same to the serum's. (2) in the aged 6 to 18, the content of Zn, Se in serum of allergic rhinitis group were significantly lower than the control group, but the content of Cu was higher than the control group, the difference was significant (P<0.05), in the aged 19to 40, the content of Zn in serum of allergic rhinitis group were significantly lower than the control group, but the content of Cu, Ni was higher than the control group, in the aged over 40, the content of Ni, Cu was higher than the control group, the difference was significant (P<0.05); Male patients with allergic rhinitis compared with the male control group,the content of Cu, Ni are increased, Zn, Se are reduced, the difference was significant (P<0.05); female patients with allergic rhinitis compared with the female control group, the content of Cu, Ni are increased, Zn, Se are reduced, the difference was significant (P<0.05) ; In the Hui, the content of Cu, Ni in serum of patients with allergic rhinitis are super than control group, but Zn, Se are lower than the control group (P<0.05); In the Han, the content of Ni in serum of patients with allergic rhinitis are super than control group ,but Zn are lower than the control group (P<0.05); The results of trace elements in associated with asthma and patients not associated with asthma, Cu are super than patients not associated with asthma,but the content of Zn, Se are lower, the difference was significant (P<0.05);Trace elements Ca, Ni, Fe, Mg, Zn, Sr, Mn, Cu, Se content between Perennial allergic rhinitis and seasonal allergic rhinitis are no significantly difference (P>0.05). (3) These elements such as Sr and Ca was positively correlated in patients with allergic rhinitis (r = 0.759, P<0.05), Ca and Zn were positively correlated (r = 0.821, P <0.05), Cu and Zn were negatively correlated (r = - 0.722, P <0.05), the other elements was no significant correlationConclusion (1) This study was to understand the Ningxia region of allergic rhinitis and control groups of trace elements in serum and hair Zn, Se, Cu, Ni contents are significantly different, It showed that in the Ningxia region the several trace elements may be related to the development of allergic rhinitis. (2) Age, nationality, whether accompanied by asthma patients may has some influence on serum trace elements of allergic rhinitis. Gender and perennial or seasonal allergic rhinitis patients has little influence on serum trace elements. (3)There are relativity between the Sr and Ca, Ca and Zn, Cu and Zn in serum of allergic rhinitis patients.
