Objective To investigate the effect of the far infrared therapy on infection of the burn wound in the process of burn exposure therapy. Methods The treatment group was composed by 41 newly hospitalized burn patients.Randomly selected 40 patients who met the inclusion criteria from January 2008-June 2008 the history of cases as control group. The treatment group was treated with far infrared therapy and conventional treatment.The control group was treated without far infrared therapy, other therapeutic measures were same to the treatment group. Observed the systemic infection and local infection in the treatment group.wound secretions taken for bacterial culture,and compared with the control group. Results The systemic and local infection in the treatment group was less than in the control group, there was significant difference between the two groups.the rate of positive bacterial culture taken in the treatment group was lower than in the control group, there was significant difference between the two groups.Conclusion 1. Far Infrared Therapy treatment could reduce the infection and local infection rate significantly.2. Therapy treatment could reduce the rate of positive bacterial culture. Randomly selected 20 patients who met the inclusion criteria from January 2008-June 2008 the history of cases as control group. The treatment group was treated with far infrared therapy and conventional treatment.The control group was treated without far infrared therapy, other therapeutic measures was same to the treatment group. The burn wound healing was judged by two experienced radiologists jointly.Recorded and analyzed wound healing time and the number of cases required surgical treatment in two groups.Results The wound healing time and the number of need for surgical treatment of treatment group were less than the control group, there was significant differences in the two groups. Conclusion 1.Far infrared therapy was efective to promote wound healing of burn wounds, it could reduce the wound healing time.2.Far infrared. therapy could promote wound healing,and reduce the incidence of wound deepened to reduce the possibility of patients required skin grafting.
