| Objective In order to approach the clinic significance of the galectin-3 which expressed in the different pathological changes of the cervix and its relation with the load of the high-risk Human Papillomavirus (HR-HPV).Method To detect the load of HR-HPV of the 130 patients included 52 patients of cervix cancer, 54 patients of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) and 24 patients of chronic cervicitis ,using the hybridizations capture. And we should detect to these patients that the expression of the galectin-3 using immunohistochemistry S-P.Results 1. There are 24 samples belongs to the group of patients who suffering CINâ… -â…¡, including 14 samples'load of suffered HR-HPV at low level (less than 100 mg/L or equal to 100 mg/L), and 8 samples'load of suffered HR-HPV at moderate level (less than 1 000 mg/L and more than 100 mg/L), and 2 samples'load of suffered HR-HPV at high level (more than 1 000 mg/L). There are 30 samples belongs to the group of patients who suffering CINâ…¢, including 8 samples'load of suffered HR-HPV at low level, and 16 samples'load of suffered HR-HPV at moderate level, and 6 samples'load of suffered HR-HPV at high level. There are 52 samples belongs to the group of patients who suffering cervix cancer, and the number of the three group of different HR-HPV load are 14, 20 and 18. It is statistical significance among of the three groups of different cervix changes according the chi-square criterion. 2. The expression of the galectin-3 is in different part of cells in the different cervix tissue. We found that the expression of the Galectin-3 in the chronic cervicitis organization is both in the cytoplasm and nucleus. With the development of the pathological changes, the expression of Galectin-3 in the nucleus is gradually disappearing, gradually only in the cytoplasm. The rate of the expression of the galectin-3 in nucleus for chronic cervicitis is 66.7%, for CIN is 35.7%, for cervical cancer is 13.6%, which has a statistically significant difference (p < 0.01). When HR-HPV infection is less than 100mg/L, Galectin-3 expression rate is (8/36) 22.2%;when HR-HPV infection between 100 and 1000 mg/L, expression rate is (14/44)31.8%; when HR-HPV infection > 1000 mg/L, expression rate is (14/26) 53.8. There are different statistically significant% (p < 0.05).Conclusions 1.It was positive correlation between the load of HR-HPV and the severity of the cervical disease. Regular inspection of HPV and testing HR-HPV was clinical significance of screening and treatment. 2. It was different that the positions of galectin-3 expression with different degrees of cervical lesions. Maybe the galectin-3 inhibited cell apoptosis then caused cervical lesions progress through the secretion from the nuclei to the cytoplasm. 3. It was positive correlation between the load of HR-HPV and the expression of glaectin-3 at the cervical lesions. Maybe galectin-3 interacted with the HR-HPV then promoted the development of the disease through changing the microenvironment of the cells and increasing the susceptibility of HPV. |
