Through clinical contrast research with combination of traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine, to observe clinical efficacy and safety of the Gu tong film for osteoarthritis of the knee.Methods:All cases were from Hubei province Chinese medicine hospital and outpatient department of orthopedics, according to disease diagnosis standard and exclusion standard, selection of patients with knee osteoarthritis 100 patients were randomly divided into treatment group and control group of each 50 cases, by the statistical test, Two groups of age, gender, and X ray classification no significant difference, has the commensurability Membrane. The treatment group using the Gu tong film treatment, daily a agent; the control group using the Fufang Nanxing Zhitong Gao, daily a agent, and 10 days for a course of treatment, continuous treatment of 2 courses. Records and comparing treatment group and control group improved knee symptoms, the data were statistically analyzed by SPSS17.0 software processing.Results:The treatment group and the control group after treatment were significantly improved, according to pain ratings were compared, No pain in the treatment group(0 level),24 cases were analgesic effect 48%; The control group in 14, analgesic effect 28%; Two groups of painless rate with significant difference (P<0.05). Safety of the two groups were compared after treatment, the results comparing the two groups very security, the statistical analysis (P>0.05). Assessment of two groups compared with control of the treatment group was72%, total effective rate was88%; and the control group was56%and total effective rate was84%. By statistical analysis, control of the treatment group were compared with control group were markedly different (P<0.05), while the total effective rate in treatment group compared with the control group no significant difference(P>0.05).Conclusion:The Gu tong film treatment knee osteoarthritis disease, and compound definite effect therapeutic effect as the Fufang Nanxing Zhitong Gao more obvious effect comparison, worthy of consideration to clinical practice. However, clinical observation of patients in this group the number is slightly less, in response to the accuracy and completeness has certain limitation, need further research.
