| Delay discounting refers to the phenomenon that the value of a reward decreases as the delay. Delay discounting task is always used to research improvidence, so the influence of future time perspective on delay discounting is one aim of the research. Emotion is another significant factor of delay discounting to be discussed. There is controversy about the influence of emotion on delay discounting, as well as the existence of the mood-congruency effect. Some studies have drawn the conclusion of mood-congruency effect, but others not. It dues to the regulating effect of the personality trait. The paper's purpose is exploring the influence of emotion and future time perspective on delay discounting, and testing the existence of the mood-congruency effect, the trait-congruency effect and the regulating effect of the future time perspective.This research consisted of two experiments and both selected college students of different future time perspective as the research objects. Besides, hypothetical money choice task is chose as the experimental material, both Area-under-the-curve and delay discounting rate k are used as delay discounting measures. The first experiment studys the impact of future time perspective on delay discounting, and tests the trait-congruency effect. The second experiment aims to discuss the existence of the mood-congruency effect, the trait-congruency effect and the regulating effect of the future time perspective under the emotional state. The results are as follows:(1)The main effect of future time perspective and the trait-congruency effect is very significant, not only under the nature state but also the emotional state. High future time perspective tends to long-term benefits, low future time perspective tends to short-term benefits.(2)The main effect of emotions and mood-congruency effect was not very significant.(3)The regulating effect of future time perspective between emotion and delay discounting was not very significant. |
