The Influence Of Mood Congruency,Mood Dependency And Sensory Channel Material On False Memory

False memory,which is also known as memory illusion,is a kind of psychological phenomenon that someone's memory being deviation from his real experience.False memory is a psychological phenomenon that deviates from the past experience and events.Studies have shown that false memories are influenced by emotions,domestic Research on the influence of mood congruency and mood dependency on false memory is still in its infancy,and the reasons for those results difference are not clear at present.Therefore,it is necessary to discuss them.Modality effect is a branch research in false memory investigation.When the false remembering is reduced or increased according to the list presentation modality switching from visual to auditory and vice verse,then the modality effect in false memory occurs.This research including two experiment uses a simplified joint recognition pattern to explore that how mood congruency,mood-dependency and sensory channel and sensory material have a influence on false memory.Then polynomial processing and modeling of statistical method are used to try to analyze internal processing mechanism of false memory.In the first experiment,three types of DRM word lists(positive,negative and neutral)were presented to three independent groups of participants who randomly assigned to three mood-induction conditions previously.At last,they were asked to finish recognition of critical lures as performance measures.In the second experiment,before the phrase of encoding and extraction,different emotional films clips were set to form the three independent groups of participants(mood-matched,mood-unmatched,control).Three types of DRM word lists(positive,negative and control)were presented to three independent groups.As same as the first study,they were asked to finish the recognition tasks finally.The results showed that:(1)the experiment results showed no significant mood congruency effect on false memory.(2)In auditory task,the effect of false memory'mood dependence is significant,which means the error recognize rate is higher when testing mood matches learning mood,but not in visual task.(3)In visual task,the error recognition rate of positive valence words was significantly higher than that of neutral and negative valence words effects,there was no significant difference between the neutral and negative valence word lists.In auditory task,there was no significant difference between the neutral and positive valence word lists,but that of negative valence words was significantly higher in experiment 1 and not in experiment 2 than the others.(4)False memory is influenced by not only memory trace but also reaction tendency.
