As a culture symbol, Chinese names contain comprehensive culture connotations. Not only does it reflect the personal wishes, values, feelings, and thoughts, but also reflects the attitude of value, morality, philosophy of a society. Thus, in some sense, Chinese names are a mirror of a society except for the information transfered by the culture symbol.In the Chinese teaching as a foreign language, Authentic materials are paid much attention because of its practical and functional results. Chinese names are a indispensable part of Chinese culture. Studying further about the culture of Chinese names with the way of authentic materials teaching will be helpful to strengthen the ability of trans-culture adaptability for foreigner students. It has practical significance.This paper summarizes the culture of Chinese names. The first part introduces how ancient Chinese names come from. The second part analyses the different kinds of culture contained in Chinese names such as "Yu culture, Fu culture, Dragon culture" and various of thoughts carried in Chinese names as well. The third part analyses and explains the culture symbols and culture types of Chinese names. The fourth part analyses the characteristics of the times in typical events during the recent 60 years.We set up investigation and interview for the foreign students, and try to know their basic knowledge about Chinese names in Chinese culture before learning and interests about different aspects concerning the culture of Chinese names. We are to strengthen the ability of the trans-culture adaptability of the foreign students, and push forward the teaching effective study of the authentic materials.
