"looked-out" image appears very early in literature, such as "The Book of Songs", "Nineteen old poems" and so on, but frequently in The wuDai and Song Words. During this period, the type of image varied. It is divided into three categories:looked out from the curtain, upstairs to look, want to look out but not look. Looked out from the curtain is that the partition of space indoors and outdoors. Scholars feel conflicts and confusion, so they want to find a solution outside unconsciously when they are in the moral failure and the collapse of value systems'period. Upstairs to look is the author looking out when standing castle, they feel complex, helpless, hesitant and contradictory, so they want to look out but not look. This is the scholar'specific mentality in the generation.So this "looked-out" have an aesthetic connotation, It can be divided into three: Curtain blocking is close to persistent look, Void caused by a sense of lost faith and nowhere to hide, Looked-out express transcendence from near and far, then leads to "road" environment. It is different from the past, Its emergence have its unique ideological and cultural background, It is summarized to three points:"nation-state "consciousness come into being by the force of enemy state, Reconstruction of the order of the State Ethics, The introversion culture in WuDai and Song. Under this circumstances, scholars continue to create "looked-out" image Words. Later, Scholars gradually go to the outdoor. LiuYong's "Staying long in a strange place" Words and SuShi's bold Words appeared. This "looked-out" also change the authors'creating psychology, One is the change of Mentality from a woman to a man, Another change is from words for actors to words by scholar-officials. This makes the "looked-out" image occupies a certain position in literary history.
