Besides western countries, Japan was the only country that achieved modernization in Asia in modern times. At the mean time, in facing the crisis of Western big powers'threats, Japan got rid of degenerating into the crisis of colony successfully and stepped onto the capitalist road and realized the country rises rapidly. Since the Meiji Restoration, Japan have started its modernization and realized the modernization until the First World War basically. It took Japan only fifty years to realize the modernization, which would take more than two and three hundreds years by the west capitalist countries. Though numerous scholars pay big attention to Japan's modernized process, several wars launched by Japan are badly blamed by the people of the whole world. The reasons of Japan's rising from a small country to an economic powerful country were varied, which included not only the supports of the western countries, but the free resources which were plundered by the wars. Japan got huge economic benefits from its crazy empire expansion. Launching wars had become an effective way to realize its economy development. The effects of wars to economy are on both sides. On one side, wars promote economy. On the other side, wars destruct economy. As for Japan, wars brought more advantages far outweigh the disadvantages to its realization of economic modernization. Through the Sino-Japanese War, Japan got huge indemnities. The victory of Russo-Japanese War brought Japan wide colony and resources for its industry. The First-World-war exported Japanese commodities to the world markets. Each war swept away of the obstacles to the development of Japan's capitalism. Wars made Japan's inherent weak economy recover and promoted economy modernization. But the fruits of Japan's economy modernization were not perfect and wars were not omnificent. Many aspects of Japan society were destroyed and delayed in the wars, which proved that wars were not the best way to realize economy modernization.
