On January 1st,2004, CEPA agreement was formally implemented. Hong Kong films were classified into the category of national institutional identity, which would undoubtedly become an important turning point for Hong Kong film. CEPA has increasingly far-reaching impacte on Hong Kong film. Mass co-produced films by Hong Kong and the Mainland have not only shaken the identity of Hong Kong film, but also changed the situation of Chinese film industry. This dissertation aims at the Hong Kong film development overview as a principal line after the implementation of CEPA agreement, through necessary research on the changes of Hong Kong film and the advantages or obstacles to the cross-cultural communication of Hong Kong film, makes reference analysis based on the data of Hong Kong film's yield and box office combining with specific cases, then puts forward some corresponding spread policies, and looks into the distance on Hong Kong film's development prospect. The first part of this paper mainly states the related content of CEPA agreement with film, and defines "Hong Kong film"in it; the second part focuses on the specific effects of Hong Kong film in the CEPA context, including overall pattern of Hong Kong film, film production. ideology in the film and other aspects; the third part analyzes the advantages or obstacles to the cross-cultural communication of Hong Kong film; the fourth part puts forward some suggestions and strategies from aspects of market expansion, marketing, development direction and so on.With the increasingly frequent and in-depth exchanges between the two places, Hong Kong film and Chinese film have been gradually converging from industry development to cultural creation. We should surpass the barriers between co-produced films and films produced in Hong Kong, and regard them as two equal parts of Hong Kong film. Hong Kong film has been combined with the Mainland market and resources more and more closely; at the same time, it will develop continually together with the Mainland films, and enhance the strength of Chinese-language films.
