Clamp a type of Chinese traditional craftsmanship dated from Tang Dynasty, which now only spreads in the South Zhejiang. As an intangible cultural heritage of Zhejiang, Clamp in the South Zhejiang encounters difficulties in developing, even ceasing totally. So in this information ear, digital preservation becomes necessary. This paper analyzes the concept of Digitalization at first, and emphasis the importance of display and spread of cultural heritage digital preservation from the aspect of philosophy. Then, taking Clamp as the instance, the paper explicates how to record, edit and visualize the Clamp in digital methods. By analyzing the merits and demerits of the Clamps-Database, the paper proposes a new program—Digital Clamp Display System using 3D objects and technology of virtual reality, which are expect to compensate your disadvantages of Clamp-Database in visualization, spread and education. This paper also intends to make other Chinese traditional craftsmanship to assimilate to digital clamp, applying these new technologies in digital preservation, to fulfill the aim of spread and education.
