German'literature theorists Wolfgang Iser has been known as a representative figure of Aesthetic of reception. Currently, about his text theory and its influence, it has not been paid enough attention.It seems to Iser, text is a literature product which is created by the author. It is a kind of phenomenology in the sense of "intentionality existence". The location about the text originated that Iser's has inherited and developed phenomenological theory. He thinks that in the reading activities process, not only have the author's intention, but also exists readers'intentionality acceptance. Speech action, context and other factors in text are branded with the writer's intentionality. Readers can choose and supplement the blank and uncertainty in the text according to itself's preference. At the same time, they can finish the whole reading activities through the reading process.Text not only unite the author and the reader, but also it is the foundation of producing meaning. Iser have the knowledge of literary texts from the perspective of hermeneutics. He consider that the meaning of literary works is not objective and fixed. It is potential in the text. The meaning is the result of the merging of different vision and changeng with the explaination. It cannot be realized and grasp by readers. But, the works'meaning can be generated by the author in the fictional cross-border and readers having the significance of cognitive in the imagination. Thus they can achieve the personality understanding about the text.Iser's text theory can't be without the various elements which is used to gulate readers'reaction by the author. "Negative" in the text is used to control the process of readers' reading and the range of thinking which plays a vital role; "Implied readers" is the important text structure which arouses readers'reaction and provides readers with the textual horizon; "Repertoire" are both a kind of reference frame and it is a kind of potential standards and specification. As these elements are presence, readers can finish reading and guarantee themself to gain the significance.Text is the foundation of Iser's reading theory. It is important role to study the text for understanding his theory view and thought. Iser's textual view plays a transitional role in the development of textual view in 20th century.
