The Study Of Austrian Composer Helmuth Froscharuer's Piano Music Toccata

This dissertation is the study about the Austrian composer Helmuth Froschauer's modern piano music "Toccata". It mainly discusses the differences beween the "Toccata" and the past piano music in the creative practice and creative purpose. This dissertation includes three parts:the first part describes Helmuth's life, his creative achievements and his style as a conductor; the second part, from the perspective of historical development, introduces the Toccata's origin and the historical development in the Baroque Period, Classical Period, Romantic Period, the late 19th and early 20th century.Also it analyses briefly the music innovation in the 20th century which lays the foundation of the third part; the third part is the most important part in the dissertation,which includes the music form, melody, rhythm, theme-motivation, harmony,tonality, piano technique and aesthetic analysis.It researchs the features different from other works.Helmuth's work is not well known, and the information about him is also poor.I hope people to know and understand the work of Helmuth's "Toccata" and other works of 20th century through analysisng the work's style characteristics and aesthetic characteristics. Furthmore, I hope to comine the practice to improve performance levels.
