The stories he told and sang were series detecting stories of LongTu Bao, which were recorded by a listener and a book was compiled called<Long Tu Er Lu>. Most researches about this book are on literature and versions, howere little on linguistics. In this paper, language characteristic of this book was studied and reduplicative adverbs were discussed, in order to reveal partial characteristics of modern Chinese and provide some basic information for reduplicative adverb of modern Chinese.In this paper, reduplicative adverbs were classified, calculated and described in order to study the characteristics on semantics, pragmatics and grammar. The sources of the questionable reduplicative adverbs were explored. The purpose is to show the characteristics and linguistics significance of reduplicative adverbs. The paper is divided into seven parts:Preface includes four parts. Firstly, research object. The main work was to sort the versions of< Long Tu Er Lu> and explain its language background and the value of this research. Secondly, the current state of reduplicative adverb research. The current research state was introduced and briefly assessed. Thirdly, research methods and ideas. The basic methods and ideas of this paper were clarified. Fourthly, some questions about reduplicative adverb. There were three main problems:reduplicative adverb and reduplicated adverbs; the excluding of duplicated adverb; the excluding of multi-category words. The connotation and extension of reduplicative adverb were determined through the discussion of the three questions.In chapter one, different classification methods of reduplicative adverb were introduced. Four categories were included:reduplicative adverbs with primary form of adverbs; reduplicative adverbs with primary of adjectives; reduplicative adverbs with primary of verbs; other types of reduplicative adverbs.In chapter two, reduplicative adverbs with primary form of adverbs were discussed. Such reduplicative adverb were divided into AA reduplication, AAB reduplication, ABB reduplication and AABB reduplication according to form. The adverbs before and after reduplication were compared and analyzed on semantics, pragmatics, syntactic position and function.In chapter three, reduplicative adverbs with primary form of adjectives were discussed. This kind of reduplicative adverbs were divided into AA reduplication, AAB reduplication, ABB reduplication and AABB reduplication according to form. The adverbs were compared and analyzed on semantics, syntactic position and function.In chapter four, reduplicative adverbs with primary form of verbs were discussed. This kind of reduplicative adverb was divided into AA reduplication, AABB reduplication and AAB reduplication. Such reduplicative adverb was analyzed through statistics and examples.In chapter five, other types of reduplicative adverbs were discussed. There are three categories:the first kind, reduplicative adverbs with primary form of other parts of speech; the second kind, reduplicative adverbs that is composed of word-formation morpheme; the third kind, geminate adverbs.
