The Phonological Research Of Huaining Anhui Province

Huaining county locates in the southwest of Anhui province. In Chinese dialect it has long been regarded as belonging to Gan dialect,and in Anhui it belonga to Qianshan Huaining dialect.Huaining County Annals divided the whole dialect into two blocks—Shipai and Gaohong,which respectively centred in Shipai town and Gaohe town.The Annals research based on Shipai dialect. In fect, there are very different phonology between Shipai and Gaohong, and none has made a systematic analysis on the Gaohong dialect before my research. So phonology of a systematic study of Huaining Gaohe is the purpose of this thesis. We will know the basic phonetic features of Gaohe town by systematic study. It also can provide information for the dialect's attribution of Anhui southwest which can offer comtemprary material to the research of Chinese dialect and the history of Chinese langusge in a deeper step.Thia thesis provides a comprehensive description of the Gaohe Huaining phonology. In vertical, we compared the phonology and the number of syllables between Gaohe dialect and mid-ancient proncenciation, which showing us the variation of phonology. In the horizontal, we made a comparison between Gaohe dialect and mandarin too.The whole thesis has five sections:Section 1:outline, it explains the general situation of geography, humanities, the general research situation, pronunciation partner and the phonetic symbols.Section 2:the induction of phonetic system. The auther described and analyzed its initial consonants, rhymes, tone and their relations respectively.Section 3:the phonetics features of Gaohe dialect which included the internal difference.Section 4:the phenomena of variant pronunction of colloquial and literary.Section 5:a collection of phomophones in Huaining Gaohe dialect.
