A Study Of The Phonetic System And Vocabulary System Of The Hengshan Dialect, The "Houshan Language"

Xiang Dialect is one of the most ten popular Chinese dialects. Comparative study of phonology of this dialect is of great theoretical significance and academic value. The phonology, vocabulary of the Houshanhua of Hengshan dialect, are described in the paper. And then we compare the phonology and vocabulary of the Houshanhua with of the Qianshanhua, to discuss the consistency and differences of them. Meantime it will try to analyze the differences and find rules and features in the elder stage of Xiang Dialect.There are four chapters in the paper.Chapter I:Which mainly profile the geographical situation, the research on Houshanhua, Hengshan dialect and explain the research origination, the scope, the method, the purpose and the significance. Meanwhile makes the brief introduction to the pronunciation co-worker and the guide of this article.Chapter II:The phonology of Houshanhua of the Hengshan dialect. It describes the phonetic system of "Houshanhua"and analyses the forms of combination of initials, final sounds and tones.Makes a historical comparison analysis of phonologies between "Houshanhua"of the Hengshan dialect and "Guangyun".The colloquial and literary pronunciation of "Houshanhua"of the Hengshan dialect. mainly covers the types and systems of colloquial and literary pronunciation in the "Houshan language" from initials, final sounds and tone. Meantime it will analyze and discuss phonetic rules and features revealed in the phenomenon.ChapterⅢ:the study of dialect vocabulary on "Houshanhua"in the Hengshan dialect.It mainly focuses on the differences in word formation and its modes involved in "Houshanhua", and then compared with "Qianshanhua"in the Hengshan dialect.ChapterIV:conclusion. The results and problems are summed up in this chapter.
