The Research On Taiwan's Lobby In USA Since China And USA Established Diplomatic Relationship

In view of U.S. policy toward China is directly related to the fate of Taiwan's future. The Taiwan authority who well versed in American politics used Taiwan's unique political, economic and military status, particularly the huge space of U.S. domestic political pluralism, has been seeking the U.S. asylum and obstructing the peaceful reunification of the two sides through lobby activities. As a legitimate means of clever overseas public relations, Taiwan's lobby in the United States breaks through the restrictions of traditional diplomacy and pays more attention to the use of communication skills to support foreign policy objectives and influence the direction of foreign relations. These activities play a role in the place beyond the reach of traditional diplomacy and have a tremendous impact on cross-strait and Sino-US relations.The present paper is made up of four parts, namely the introduction, the body, the conclusion and references, in which the body is divided into five chapters. The first chapter briefly outlines Taiwan's lobby in the United States before establishing the Sino-US relations and the lobby space under the U.S. political system.The core chapters of this paper are from the second chapter to the fourth chapter. With the international situation changes as the background and the progress of Taiwan's lobbying activities in the United States as the clues, discuss the characteristics and the impact on cross-strait and three sides of Taiwan's lobbying activities in different stages.The fifth chapter discusses the impact of Taiwan's lobby in the United States toward Sino-US relations and the world pattern. In the short term, to a certain extent, it affected the normal development of Sino-US relations, caused tension or even back across the Taiwan Strait and increased the difficulty of the peaceful reunification of the motherland. In the long run, Sino-US relations are driven by the common interests from the final analysis. The negative impact of the Taiwan's lobby is shrinking.The conclusion part summaries the full text. Although the Taiwan's lobby in the United States has repeatedly manufactured the explosion points among Sino-US conflict, with the maturity of Sino-US relations, the space will become increasingly smaller. To completely change the U.S. position and practices on Taiwan's issue, we need to make ourselves stronger.The present paper combined with historical facts and theories attempts to take roots in and develops itself on the basis of the research fruits that were acquired by former researchers, elaborates well the evolution orbit of Taiwan's lobby in the United States, reveals the impact on cross-strait and three sides which Taiwan's lobbying activities has brought about.
