The Study On The Relationship Of Adult Attachment?social Support And Mental Health Among The College Students

Adult attachment is an extending of early attachment relationship in infant period which will play an important role in the process of growth.Social support is a kind of spiritual and material help received during the interaction within an interpersonal relationship network(parents,friends or organizations)between individuals.The attachment relationship formed with others will influence the degree of social support and,as a result,influence the mental health of an individual directly or indirectly.Therefore,to study the relation between the three aspects will be of great significance for college students in social adaptation,personality improvement as well as mental and physical health.This research takes students from freshmen to seniors in Qinghai University as targets and applies the method of questionnaire.Major conclusions are as follows:(1)Analysis of the relation between college students attachment with mental health: there is significant positive correlation between the ten factors of SCL-90 and the total points of the ten factors,and the two dimensions of adult attachment will play significant positive predictive effect on the ten factors of SCL-90 and the total points.(2)Analysis of the relation between college students' attachments with social support: college students avoid admitting the significant negative correlation between attachments with subjective support,objective support,supports utility and total points of social supports,and the significant negative correlation between anxiety attachment with subjective support,supports utility and total points of social support.College students avoid admitting the negative predictive effect of attachments on subjective support,objective support,supports utility and total points of social support,and the negative predictive effect of anxiety attachment on subjective support,objective support,supports utility and total points of social support.(3)Analysis of the relation between social supports with mental health: there is significant positive correlation between subjective support,objective support and the total points of social supports with the ten factors of mental health and total points of the ten factors;and significant negative correlation between social supports and supports utility,somatization,compulsion,sensitive of interpersonal relationship,depression,anxiety,hostility,sleep and dieting with the total points of the above;and no significant correlation between social supports with stubborn and mental health.There is significant predictive effect of the total points of social supports on somatization,sensitive of interpersonal relationship,depression,anxiety,hostility,terror,stubborn,mental disorder,sleep and diet and the total points of the above.(4)Analysis of the relation between college students' attachments,social support and mental health: the social support work as intermediation between adult attachments and mental health.Adult attachments can cause direct influence on mental health or indirect influence on mental health with the help of social support.
