The basic goal of education is to enable students to become independent,autonomous and effective learners. Since the 1970s, researchers and language teachers have shifted their focus of study from"how to teach"to"how to learn". Gradually the study of second language learning strategies is becoming one of the important parts of second language acquisition study. Teaching students how to learn and training them to master effective learning strategies not only help them improve their learning, reduce their study burden but also improve the quality of education.Summing up the research into second language learning strategies home and abroad, this paper adopts the Oxford's Strategy Inventory for Language Learning(1990 ) to conduct a questionnaire survey, and discussed the overall use and influence factors of Chinese learning strategies for inland senior students from Xinjiang. In this paper,data on the questionnaire is analyzed with the help of SPSS16.0 statistical software .The survey finds that: 1.Strategies used by the inland senior students from Xinjiang, according to their frequency, are compensation strategies > affective strategies > cognitive strategies > social strategies > metacognitive strategies > memory strategies; 2.Gender has significant influence on learning strategies:girls are higher than boys on memory strategies, cognitive strategies and metacognitive strategies , especially the significant influence on memory strategies ; using compensation strategies,affective strategies and social strategies,boys are higher than girls, but not have significant influence. 3.Students of different grades have significant influence on learning strategies: grade two > grade one > matriculation. There are no significant differences between the strategies used by grade one and matriculation; except social strategies, matriculation and grade two have significant influence; using compensation strategies, affective strategies, cognitive strategies and memory strategies have significant influence.In conclusion, based on the fact of learning strategies and individual factors , we should understand the importance of learning strategies correctly, and take measures to improve the level of learning strategies, the efficiency and overall quality of education, and provide some theory and practice to study Chinese for minority students in Xinjiang.
