| Language is such an integral part of our life. Dialects are the evolution of a living fossil .They provide valuable materials that the historical document lacks.The southwest mandarin is spoken by the largest population and in most of the area. The speech of Panzhihua,Miyi,Huili,Dechang,Yanyuan which belong to Chengdu-Chongqing dialect of north dialect southwest Mandarin are one of Sichuan Dialect. The speech of Xichang belongs to the branch of the Minjiang River delta of the Southwestern Mandarin in Modern Chinese Dialects. And Mianning dialect belongs to the branch of the Renshou-Fushun dialect of north dialect southwest bureaucratese are one of Sichuan Dialect. There are not too much professional research achievements about dialects of these seven parts so far.There are six parts of this paper. The first part is an overview of the study of these places and introduction of material needed for research. The second part is the general information which is about historical evolution,population migration,and transportation of the speeches of these seven places. The third part describes the initial consonants, rhymes and tones, inducing the laws of the phonological arrangement and syllabic lists. The fourth part is horizontal synchronic comparison,comparing the speeches of these seven places with Chengdu Speech which is the prevailing Beijing language of the Southwestern Mandarin in Sichuan province. The fifth part is the feature of dialects in these seven places. In the sixth part,there are some schedules, including maps list of seven places. First of all,the thesis accesses the audio-recording at first hand based on the field investigation,and establishes corresponding database. Secondly,the description is applied to describe the initial consonants, rhymes and tones. Thirdly,it compares the dialects of the seven places with Beijing and Chengdu. At last, it summarizes the phonetic feature by induction. |
