Historical Contingency And Modern Conversion

The thesis was mainly taking the "17 years" Anti-Japanese War Novels which have special characteristic of "the legend" as the research object. Combined with the "legendary mode" theory, I determined the detailed analysis as my emphatically idea. The discussion was focused on the special relation between the Legendary tradition of Ancient Chinese Novels and "17 years" Anti-Japanese War Novels. Meanwhile, I intended to rediscover these work's value and significance in contemporary history of literature.In addition to the introduction and conclusion, the paper included three sections. In the first chapter, I mainly considered the historical basis of legendary stories generated. The writers showed characteristic enthusiasm on unearthing the struggle histories of the Anti-Japanese War. In this prison of expression, the author tried to establish their ways of talking. It meant these strategies concealed the authors'intention. The second chapter basically concerned the narration in legend in "17 years" Anti-Japanese War Novels. It wasn't a kind of literary image to be advocated but a kind of object to be standardized. The inner structure of these novels depicted with legendary methods. They were casting of the traditional "Legendary" factor such as manifested in the story, the plot of the rather strange, narrative of poetic three aspects. The third chapter discussed how the "17years" Anti-Japanese War Novels have the historical contingency and modern conversion with "the Legend". The authors tried to abandon "the Legend" in the construction and ideological contradictory traditional factor. There were three ways of legendary traditional to modernity conversion. Firstly, endowing the "Chivalrous" with the new connotation. Secondly, establishing the poles named "Third Person" between the poles "Goodness" and "Evil".
