The Study Of Lin Shoutu

Lin Shoutu is famous poets in fujian province in late Qing Dynasty.He has undergone Jiaqing,Daoguang,Xianfeng,Tongguang and Guangxu dynasties, but his main activities are in Daoguang,Xianfeng,Tongguang. He has been an officer for forty years, experiencing the imperial ups and downs, his mind had great changes,plus the influence of poetic atmosphere era, his poetic style changed apparently. LinShoutu's early main pursuit is the poetic style of Tang Dynasty, which is simple,curious or magnificent.Later, he mainly imitated the style of Huang Tingjian, which is hard and peculiar.In addition,his Poetic thought also experienced a process of development. He inherited the idea of Song poetry and absorbed the viewpoint of Tongcheng. In short, he combined "Poets'poem" and "scholars'poem ".This also reflects Lin Shoutu's thinking of contemporary poetry development direction. To a certain extent,he is the pioneer of Tongguang. In his later years, Lin Shoutu left the officialdom and wrote the book " Qi Dong Lu".This book introduces the northeast China ethnic history and geography condition, which has the academic value.My essay refers to the related documents, and discusses fully about LinShoutu's life, poetic style, poetic thought, etc.This case study for us to understand poetic development in late Qing Dynasty, especially the development of Tongguangti in Fuzhou, perhaps can bring some new inspiration.
