Taiwan The Retrocession, (1945-1947) Literature Of National Identity And Its Changes

From the event of the restoration of Taiwan to the 228 incident, the political and economical background in Taiwan takes drastic changes in two years, for the reason of the recurrence and "the rule of man" which is full of feudal autocracy and corruption, while the latter is the most important reason why there exists stagnant economy and tribulation in personal lives. It directly influences the impressions on the political power of Kuomintang, which leads to the changes of people's sense towards national identity. From the beginning of 1980s, these changes are exploited by Green Camp, who describes the 228 incident as the persecution towards people who live in Taiwan. They think that the works written by the writers living in the period of recovery implicates some changes happening in the idea of self-identity and the works has constructed the originating of Taiwan Independence, trying to find the validity for such an idea. As a result, the essay would make some researches on Wuzhuoliu,Lvhero,Longyingzong, who appear to be more active in the period of recovery. By the research on the idea of national identity showed from their works, in order to position the situation of national identity in Taiwan according to their living experience.The essay firstly draws from the movie <City of Sadness> and introduces the social situation and background in the two years of recovery in Taiwan. The essay points that the emotion possessed by the society in Taiwan is the implication of the existing phenomenon. Meanwhile, the changes also influence the idea of self-identity. Secondly, the essay regards the novels published in the period of two years by Wu Zhuoliu,Lv Heruo and Long Yingzong as the analyzing text, exploring the characteristic of diversifying existence and diachronism, including "homeland identity","agrestic identity" and "identity towards the modernity part, and the diachronism from "homeland identity" to "agrestic identity". Thirdly, the essay analyzes the individuality showed by family, education background, experience and career of the three writers in depth, in order to grasp the situation of identity and changes of the period. Finally, the essay analyzes the reason of the changes of the national identity, trying to make the conclusion that the kaiserdom of Kuomindang is the most important reason why the changes occurs. For today's society in Taiwan, the political environment is still the most important factor influencing national identity. In 2008, Ma Yingjiu is successfully selected with the president, which is of great advantage towards the society in Taiwan without doubt, and the national identity in Taiwan would become to change and the identity towards mainland would be enhanced with the continual communicating in economy and culture.That is to say, the essay tries to make some researches on the situation on national identity and changes in the literature happening in the period of recovery in Taiwan, in order to make some responses to the academic research, trying to provide historical use for reference for developing "Chinese consciousness" in Taiwan by analyzing the Chinese culture's influences on the two years'period of national identity, among which Kuomindang takes helm of the state.
