The term "Graphics" was from the translation of English word "Graphics". The modern graphics germinated from the beginning of last century, began to flourish after World WarⅡand entered China in only recent decades. Graphics is formed by graph; it is a visual form different from text. Graphics and text are both the tools of human communication of information; however, graphics is more easily than text to convey information accurately, exchange of information can be done by graphics beyond the countries and peoples. Graphics in modern sense generally refers to a visual form of culture, style, information and even ideology, expressing of the modern aesthetic and life. Therefore, graphic is an international language, as well as a visual language, with visual thinking, beyond words, and ultimately restores psychology.Modern graphics has been full of "foreign" smell since it entered China after China's reform and opening up. Design is not only economic support, but also a reflection of culture. If modern graphics wants to integrate into China, it should be marked with the imprint of Chinese culture. Moreover, China has this tradition; the Chinese will use their own cultural thinking and connotation to interpret. Because China has five thousand years'history, after all; the western graphics cannot reverse the tradition of Chinese culture. Therefore the meaning is often misinterpreted, and the original intention goes to other direction. So, digging and neatening national graphics, and application and research of it are much more important.Chinese national graphics has the long Chinese history of the Chinese nation, containing many factors as the religion, philosophy, aesthetics, literature, customs, and rituals and so on. After a long time of baptism, these graphs still show great vitality with unique pattern of Chinese charm. Its cultural values can be fully displayed. Renowned designer Daiqiang Jin also said:"All of modernization and internationalization should be based on traditional culture." Besides, in recent years many successful and influential design work and designers they all used traditional graphs to some degree, which provides some conditions for the application study of national graphics in modern visual design.This paper is based on the national graphics, content of the study in the following aspects:First, the development of modern visual design and its meaning; and then analyze the scope of Chinese national graphics. By the application of borrowing method, transform method, metaphor and other means, basing on the international graphics to explore the infiltration and transformation of Chinese national graphics in the modern visual design; attempts made to different degrees to have Chinese content as well as international style. Finally, with a comprehensive analysis of their relationships, this paper analyzes their future development trends and impact, combining the elements of the Chinese style with the format of western composition, showing a visual novelty and impact. Some contribution to the exploration of nationalization of design is tried to make.The nation is the world, all of modernization and internationalization should be based on traditional culture. The research of applying national graphics in modern visual design will not only add bright colors to the development of modern Chinese visual design, but also make world modern visual design rich and colorful!...
