A Study On The Visual Forms And Applications Of Geometrical Elements In Modern Graphic Designs

The ideas behind visual forms support the soul of graphic designs. Geometry, as thebasic element in art designs, plays a role which can not be ignored in visualcommunication in various fields of graphic design. Through studying the specificpreferences of nature and human in evolution in recorded history, this paper discovers thatgeometrical elements, as a basis, is extended and expanded to all walks of human life,especially in the field of art design, where geometrical elements are created according tothe aesthetics of forms. Now, this visual form is adopted and developed by modern graphicdesigns. This paper employs the methods in geometrical point determination, artpsychology, hermeneutics and aesthetics of reception to apply the visual form theory ofgeometrical elements into real graphic design, and to provide theoretical bases andpractical values for modern graphic design through the study on the beauty of geometricalelements.
