After the middle and late Tang Dynasty, Tibetan occupied Hezhou area nearly for hundred years, and promoted Buddhism within its jurisdiction, during this period, Tibetan Buddhism was introduced into Yongjing areas of Gansu Province, and settled in this area. In Mongolian and Yuan Dynasty, Tibetan Buddhism developed more mature, and become formed many schools. Mongolian and Yuan Dynasty masters promoted Tibetan Buddhism in order to consolidation its border areas, in this period, Tibetan Buddhism Sakya, Kagyu came into Bingling Temple. Ming Dynasty learned management experience of Tibetan areas from Yuan Dynasty, which vigorously promoted Tibetan Buddhism and supported to build temples. All this measures provide a good opportunity to Yongjing region for development of Tibetan Buddhism and make a number of temples appeared, and introduced into Bingling Temple, which grew fast and its scale developed more than any others. Early Qing Dynasty, the reincarnation system was established in Bingling Temple, and it means the development of Tibetan Buddhism reached the top as Yongjing area. During the late Qing Dynasty, large-scale outbreak of Muslims broke out in Northwest China, Buddhist temples were ruined by war, though, they were repaired, but they were not as good as ever.This paper is mainly focused on the time that Tibetan Buddhism spread to Yongjing area, to do a more comprehensive study for the history of Tibetan Buddhism's spread in this region, as well as the impact of the region, and its contemporary development trends. Through the research on the spread of Tibetan Buddhism in Yongjing area, deepening the understanding Yongjing`s effect of communication between the frontier and the mainland area, highlighted Tibetan Buddhism`s impact in ethnic relations. Also provide useful reference for the management in this region`s ethnic and religious affairs and the construction of harmonious society.
