"The Secular Preaching texts of the Amitābha-sūtra on the draft"this paper is divided into three parts,"Buddha's preaching(佛说)","Amitābha-sūtra(《阿弥陀经》)", and"Secular Preaching texts"(讲经文). While Buddha preached the doctrine, the Buddhism has been spread since India to China so far more than two thousand six hundred years. At the beginning, it was taught by word-of-mouth, so-called as oral transmission of Dharma. The Sutra had recorded that the auditory faculty of Saha Land(娑婆世界) is the most benefit, so the Buddhist activities have created through sounds and voices. After that time, Buddhists had silent recitation by rote, and assemble all the Buddha's teaching to be the Sutra for spreading far and wide. The ways of preaching, like preaching to people and leading them to conversion, Buddhist hymns (bhasa,梵呗), or reading and reciting, were emerged. Amitābha-sūtra, is one of the most popular sutra in China, and one of the main sutra in Pure Land Sect(净土宗). Because it is hard to believe, also to be the one of the sutra that ?ākyamuni preached without being asked. For the living beings'sake to practice and cultivate the Buddha way easily, ?ākyamuni revealed and taught us of his simplest ways for liberation and enlightenment─reciting Amitābha Buddha's name. By reciting the name, all the sentient beings such as common men, women and children are equal, regardless of social status, for practicing the Buddhism to be born in the Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss(极乐净土). The scriptures are one of the literary forms in oral literature from Dunhuang posthumous papers(敦煌遗书). Those are the Secular Preaching texts(讲经文本) by masters and directors to publicizing the Dharma in Tang and Five Dynasties, and the only significant purpose is secularizing and guiding the public. They explained the profound theories in simple terms through performing the Buddhist stories, and using the prose and rhymes, vernaculars and proverbs alternate with each other, talking and singing to elucidate meanings of Dharma and impress the audiences to submit willingly. By the scriptures of the Amitābha-sūtra, we can learn to the remnant in the time of Buddha's teaching, the progression of the leading and Buddhist hymns (bhasa,梵呗), the presence of Secular Preaching rituals, the popular ideas of the Amitābha's Pure Land in Tang and five Dynasties.
