Analysis Of The Pen And Ink's Linear Expressions

Chinese painting has nearly several thousand years of history, shaped from bud to ripe today,and finally it formed an aesthetic way that mainly expression the subjective thoughts by emphasizing "Pen and Ink" .With the aesthetic pursuit of the times, and sublimate it to the high degree called "spirit of the pen and ink", then eventually make "pen and ink" to be independent,and becoming a special form to expression the cultural.The new reform of Chinese painting also have some problems about "pen and ink" ,to face these problems ,this article try to start with the characteristics of Chinese painting, through the extremely representative basic elements lied in "pen and ink language"—an example to analyze and discuss the line. The article through two aspects which from utilitarian function to aesthetics function to demonstrate the line's role, further clarify and have a result: under the reality and global influence of cultural system, if people want to have the reform of Chinese painting, they must maintain to combine the national characteristics and modern style of painting so that the "pen and ink" could fully show their national character features, thus achieving the objective of the reform: "reasonable draw" and "seek common ground".
