The purpose of this thesis is to dig out the interrelated parts between Ren Hongjun's scientific thoughts and the Chinese traditional culture. First, the paper describes the process that Ren Hongjun had received a good education about traditional culture, and the production environment of his scientific thoughts. They will lay the foundation for the further analysis of scientific thoughts. Chapter II, it discusses the contradiction in Ren Hongjun's scientific thoughts and the solution which he had adopted. The paradox is: on the one hand, Ren Hongjun has a deeper understanding of science and the scientific spirit, and he believes that science is universal. On the other hand, he had to emphasis on "Science in China" facing the situation in China, which associated with the his attitude on issues of traditional culture. The solution is integrate Chinese traditional culture and modern Western science, and then absorb the essence of the two. In the third chapter, it turned to inspect the micro perspective. To further discusses his handling of the Chinese traditional culture and modern Western science, it reviews the debate about vernacular reform between Ren Hongjun and Hu Shi and others. After that, it is obvious that Ren Hongjun disseminates scientific knowledge, while he was conducting the literary reform. Through Ren Hongjun's scientific thoughts and his attitude towards the study of traditional culture, we found that it is the deep understanding between traditional culture and science, which make Ren Hongjun get the answer that times required.
