The Value, Development And Utilization Of The Local Confucianism Public School At Deqing

Confucianism has again become the focus in South-east Asia and even the whole world. It advocates justness, wisdom, rituals and benevolence and creates a culturally peaceful mind-set, generating fraternity, forgiveness, virtuousness, royalty and filiaty among people, which promote socialist ideological and ethical progress and build a harmonious society. Academia have been studying the origin of Confucianism, development, the impact to Chinese ancient cultures and the relations with Chinese ancient politics. Confucian temples are the media of Confucianism. Deep investigations in their origin, evolution, sacrificing ceremonies, architetures and cultural continuity have been taken in the last few decades. It emphasizes their profound significance in cultural continuity. There are 35 Confucian temples in South China, among which the Local Confucianism Public School at Deqing is of the longest history, largest scale, uique characteristics and research value. Little has been done in other aspects except architeture to it.The Local Confucianism Public School at Deqing was built in Song Dynasty (A.D.1011), about 1000 years from now. Its history is longer than other one in the South China owing to the Legend of Dragon Mother at Yuecheng.It has high value in terms of architure and art because of its magnificence, Dacheng Palace, technical and practical advancement, charateristics of Song and Yuan Dynasty and unique decoration.Doubtlessly, it is worth to develop the Local Confucianism Public School at Deqing. Firstly, it help us knowing about the life, politics and culture of ancient people. It is good to built a harmonious society, enrich our treasure trove art and boost the education and local economy. Lastly, it enforce the attachment and cohesion of Chinese people.It is being restored and an art corridor is being added, about 10,000 square meters. The majority has been accomplished and open to the public.The following measures can be done to utilize:to increase the cognition of its value and optimize its inernal management; to comprehensively ultilize the facilities and promote widely; to adjust industrial structures and develop its tourism; and other relavant activities.It has great importance in the value of history and art of architeture, resources development, culture, education, social development and economy development.
