United Fruit Company And 1954 Guatemala Coup

During the 1950s, Guatemala, a nation in Central America, was experiencing a national democratic reform concentrated on agrarian reform carried out by President Jacobo Arbenz Guzman, In the progress of this agrarian reform, the government of Guatemala made a requisition of land, which seriously damaged the monopoly economic profit of United Fruit Company (UFCO).
